TAG was founded in 1969 as a family owned business, and was a pioneer in the civil aviation business. In 1972, TAG broke the monopoly of the state owned company "Aviateca", by incorporating to its float a DC3. With the passing of the years, TAG has contributed to the industry with important acomplishments in Guatemala; It was the first Guatemalan company to get certified as Aerial Operator under the new civil aviation regulations and was founder of the Guatemalan Association of Air Lines and the Cargo Air Lines of the Chamber of Industry, among others.
