TAG was founded in 1969 as a family owned business, and was a pioneer in the civil aviation business in Guatemala. In 1972, TAG broke the monopoly of the state owned company "Aviateca", by incorporating to its fleet a DC3. With the course of the years, TAG has contributed to the industry with important accomplishments in Guatemala; It was the first Guatemalan company to get certified as Air Operator under the new civil aviation regulations and was founder of the Guatemalan Airline Association and the Cargo Airlines Union of the Industry Chamber, among others.
